Ever wonder how prepared your students are for moving into other higher education institutes?  We'll, take a look at the Education News Colorado Site, http://www.ednewscolorado.org/2010/02/22/3226-data-center-remediation-rates-by-school-district .  The information shows what % of students per school or district that require additional remediation in at least one area of reading, writing or math as they leave high school.  The statistics are self explanatory and reveal a huge challenge that Colorado schools are facing.

It would be interesting to actually put a dollar amount on the extent of cost for additonal remediation courses required before students entering higher education insititutes are at the entry level equivalent.  When we talk about the need for additional funding at the P-12 level, I think the general population would be amazed at how much it really costs to suppliment the deficiencies.  Anybody have any information on studies already done in this area?
